A small village in north-west Germany
This village was documentaryly remarked for the first time in the
12th century. Originally it is a typical village for eastern Westfalia and it
was mainly influenced by aggriculture. However, today Dankersen is one of many
suburbs of the city of Minden . Some timber frame houses, which are typical for
this region, still exist today.
In order to preserve the history of Dankersen as an
heritage for the following generations we would be happy about any support
(photos, documents, etc.) we can get - from all over the world. We are
particularly interested in the time at the end of the 19th and the beginning of
the 20th century, when lots of people left Europe for a new life in the new
world. Unfortunately we do not have many photos or other documents.
