A small village in north-west Germany

{short description of image}

This village was documentaryly remarked for the first time in the 12th century. Originally it is a typical village for eastern Westfalia and it was mainly influenced by aggriculture. However, today Dankersen is one of many suburbs of the city of Minden . Some timber frame houses, which are typical for this region, still exist today.

In order to preserve the history of Dankersen as an heritage for the following generations we would be happy about any support (photos, documents, etc.) we can get - from all over the world. We are particularly interested in the time at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, when lots of people left Europe for a new life in the new world. Unfortunately we do not have many photos or other documents.

So - if you can help, please contact us.

This web page is a pure private initiative. For further information arround the activities in Dankersen click here!
